My husband has just been diagnosed with the Wegener’s disease and we have already started with the therapy. Prognosis is very good, although I have to admit that the symptoms of this disease are really severe. Since we have two daughters, I would like to know if they are in any danger, concerning hereditary risk. Does Wegener’s disease affect both male and female?
Well, so far, the doctors were not able to find out what is the true cause of this illness. They do mention genetic predisposition as one of the possibilities, but nothing was ever backed with solid evidence. As for the gender, I think there was a research that showed that out of 135 patients, male female ratio was 70:65.
