My father is 75 years old. He had a very difficult life and it is showing, especially on his face. Till recently he looked older that he is but he didn't have any problems. But now he is often complain about drooping eyelids. A friend of mine told me that he might have myasthenia gravis. She has that disease and has same symptoms. I want to help my dad, but I don't know how. Is it possible that my father has that disease, I mentioned or he has something else.
It is not possible at all that your father has myasthenia, because it is mostly disease of young woman. Or if had this, then he should have symptoms for 30 years. I have it, and that is why I know. The most probable is that your father has mechanical ptosis. This occurs in many elderly people from stretching and redundancy of eyelid skin and fat under it. The extra weight if these sagging tissues cause the lid to droop. Considering your story about his difficult life it is logical to presume. Maybe you should take him to a doctor for checking.
