My husband has a drinking problem which we are trying to control. I however have noticed that his behaviour and mind is all over the place. He work a good 10 hour day and I pick him up each night from work. Some days hes all good but some days he will be very disoriented, will be rambling things, have slurred speech, smells of alcohol, eyes dialated, struggles to walk and starts falling asleep. Some days I just try and get him home asap feed him and get him to bed.... its like living with a 5 year old. He drinks lots of water, and milk, loves his chocolate or something sweet to accompany his milk..... i know he doesnt drink on the job but because of his drinking problem I ask him everyday if he's had anything..... and hes be honest with me and tell me he hasnt.... and I guess ive also told him that ill end the marriage if I find him drinking. I googled the subject today and ready some comments that it could be a possible case of diabetes.... I have type 2 and ive never had symptoms like this. With a few posts that are on here has anyone been confirmed with a diagnoses of these symptoms being diabetes..?? Any advise and assistance will be appreciated.

Get him to a doctor.
Are your sure it is an alcohol odor, or maybe just a sweet or fruity odor? It could indicate diabetes. As you know diabetes can also make him appear/act intoxicated.
Look up "ketoacidosis." If he is diabetic and not managing it, it can happen.
