I'm 33 years old and never been pregnant. I had sex the day before and two days after I believe I ovulated (I had very clear, egg-white-like mucous. We used a condom, but there was a small amount of pre-intercourse genital contact. I'm now one day late for my period and I'm very worried that I might be pregnant.

My breasts are extremely sore, but not like they usually are--this time it's concentrated more in the front nipple areas than "in the back" like it usually is. They don't have the "heavy" feeling they normally do during PMS, either.

I've had mild cramping (usually it's very painful) for a week now, but no period (usually it only lasts for about 1-2 days before my period starts).

Today I tried to reach up to my cervix to see if I could find any different mucous or early signs of my period. I noticed that it felt very different than it has in the past--It was very soft with a hard "center" underneath the softness when I squeezed it.

I think I've been moody, but I'm so freaked out about being pregnant, that I can't really use my emotional state as any kind of indicator either way.

I took an early-detection home pregnancy test yesterday, but it came back negative.

Does it sound likely that I'm pregnant, even though I may not be producing enough hormone to show up on a test?
