I am having episodes of feeling extremely hot and sweating profusely in upper body only, face feels numb, head feels numb, roaring in ears, feeling faint, vomiting.  These episodes cause me to then have panic/anxiety attacks because I feel like I'm dying.  I have had an angiogram that shows narrow artery to brain (born that way, no stenosis) and no blood vessels in lower left back portion of brain (born this way).  I had an EKG and ECG which showed no problems with my heart.  I had a carotoid ultrasound which was normal.  I know my body so I know something is not right.  These episodes are not normal.  As I said panic/anxiety is NOT the cause but a symptom brought on by the episodes.  Has anyone reading this ever experienced this?  If so, have you been given a diagnosis?  I don't want an autopsy to diagnosis problem.  Can anybody identify with this?

Hi, GMof5... Did the doctor do any blood work on you while in the hospital?  I have to wonder whether you are having something going on with your thyroid or blood sugar.  The only way to find out is to have your thyroid hormones and blood glucose levels checked.  Both problems express many of the symptoms you described such as feeling hot and sweating, numbness, vomiting, and feeling faint.  It also could be your blood pressure plummeting (hypotension).  What usually precipitates your episodes? As a side bar, people who are sensitive to MSG (monosodium glutamate) will exhibit similar symptoms as well.  I hope you find what is causing your attacks and it is easily treated.

Thank you for your response. My PCP is checking my thyroid. He also is checking me for carcinoid and benign kidney tumor. I have hypertension. My PCP knows I am not a whiner. I usually ignore things other people would run to the Dr. for. These are scary. I start wondering if this is what it feels like to die. The episodes take me into a panic/anxiety attack because I get so scared. I will let you know if I get a diagnosis.
