I'm 63 and have the same condition. I've used well water in all sorts of places for years and nothing changed, I live in the tropics now and the hot and humid time is by far the worst. I've heard of dark skinned people having the same condition. I may try the sauna approach because I don't sweat a lot and have zero body odor. Maybe my pores are clogged. I do believe aquagenic puritus is the condition.

Could be due to under active thyroid. I had the same problem for about two years. Since I started taking Levothyroxine 50 MG the itching has stopped.

I do the exact same thing It has nothing to do with parfums, soap, detergent, or anything else. I itch when I get wet or hot. When I'm in the sun,it feels like needles all over me I was itching everywhere excluding my face, and now I am starting to itch there also. Mine too came on all of a sudden, and has lasted for over a year I feel like I am going crazy no one believes me, I am 100% sure it has something to do with the chemicals in the water. I go out in the rain, and start itching also, but like you I also quit itching when I am on vacation . One Dr. seems to think it comes from nerves, and being under stress, because I am now doing it when I'm not near water. Help!!!!!

Im 25 and have had the prob since 16/17
im not really sure, but ive seen doc abt it as well, my only findings hve been a little more on the metaphysical side of things that has to do with the energy
see hypersensitivity
see indigo children
its a bit wild, but its something to consider since modern med / docs have no idea what this stuff is, but ive found multiple links to other things as well.

that's what it turned out to be in my case...have never had this problem until a month or so ago. Just had a live blood analysis done at a naturopath's and there's candida all over the place in my blood...

I made a post on this topic earlier last year and since then have found some things that work for me. The big thing is trying to stay hydrated.

This means, when you wake up drink 1-2 glasses of water, and drink 2 more at least through out the day. Also try and cut down on the foods that dehydrate you. These are things with caffeine, alcohol etc. For me this has made a very significant difference and throughout normal day, I do not notice the symptoms any more, and its only when I start to workout after slacking on staying hydrated for a few days in the winter that I have any mild irritation.

I would suggest if you are using antihistamines to rotate through different brands or different active ingredients so your body doesn't gain a tolerance towards the drug. I soon developed one to the antihistamines I was taking and went from the recommended 1 to 3 a day. I since have stopped using them all together and I don't notice any difference after I cut down on dehydration factors.

Ive had the same problem for about 10 years. It happens if I sweat, shower, swim (pool, fresh or salt water), even in high humidity. It seems to occur as the moisture is evaporating. Nothing stops the itch, although covering up the bare skin with clothing does seem to reduce it. Aquagenetic pruritis seems to be the best description. I think it must be some chemical reaction between my body chemistry and the evaporating moisture. I guess we are lucky though, I've read of people who actually get hives. GZ

Anyway it hasn't gone away I've tried, mild soap, switch laundry detergent, no more scented soap.no more body sprays.can't go to the gym cause of it , can't go swimming , can't go to the beach, no more sports anything that will make me sweat can't do.I've been looking for a cure for years nothing works but now that I found that other people have thia and I'm not a freak I'm going to look into these other cures..

only my legs and wrists itch uncontrollably when I come in tact with water. I have to cut my shower short bc it itches so bad that I feel like I'm being attacked. Sucks so bad.  But when I get out of the shower and dry off and put moisturizer lotion on, bc I have dry skin, it goes away. Almost immediately, or at least within 5 or 10 min. And it's only when it's really hot out. I work concrete const. And am exposed to alot of heat and sweat all day long. Even when I think about taking a shower I start itching.. Maybe it's my mind ha ha. Just don't understand why it's only in the summer. It's def not the soap or towels or bed bugs otherwise it would happen all seasons and itch all over not just the wrists and legs. Personally, I think it's the heat, and there is no way around it. But putting moisturizer lotion helps me real quick.

mine started 2 years ago after I got out of a shower.. I ran into my livingroom cause my back felt like it was on fire.. my wife looked and it appeared I had a severe allergic reaction.. Thankfully cortisone cream fixed it that time.. but then the next time it happened again.. and again and again.. etc.. I have tried just about everything I can think of.. I notice the itch is worse in the summer.. lighter in the other seasons.. right now its only on my back so I just try to take a fast luke warm shower and avoid water contact on my back.. I didnt change anything I had done.. and I only notice it when im sweating or taking a shower.. and I have noticed that I have been sweating easier, more frequently and more abundantly.. but im also trying to lose weight in hopes to this being the reason since in the last 3 years I gained about 60 lbs from quitting smoking. Whatever this is has played a major change in my life.. I dont want to be intimate with my wife (which has been a small part of our current separation) cause the itching is only on my back and there are times I just wanna rub up against the tar of the road just to relieve the pain for 2 minutes. It doesnt happen if I go for a swim.. at least I havent noticed.. and thats in a swimming pool.. not a lake..
