Even if I don't eat an hour after I drink any vodka product, it hurts. I cant brush my teeth the next day cuz it hurts so much, it literally brings me to tears. It usually lasts a week but the pain is at its worse the day after drinking and the next after that.
I stoped drinking for a while because I couldn't eat after drinking, but I finally found a solution. Although it sucks, I had to give up vodka and found Rum works.
I have had this problem for many years. I think it is mainly due to the fact that as a teenager I used to drink a lot of coke (several cans a day) and as a result the majority of the enamel was eroded from my teeth. For the last ten years or so every time I drank white wine or champagne my teeth would be extremely painful for days, sometime more than a week. Brushing and eating were particularly painful. So I switched to red wine, but now that too hurts my teeth. I think my teeth are now in such bad condition that I may have to give up wine altogether, not that I drink it often, mainly just on special occasions such as Christmas etc. My advice to anyone who is getting this problem in the early stages is to try and avoid wine completely if at all possible, as otherwise over a period of time the acid in the wine will slowly remove the enamel on the surface of your tooth and will lead to serious dental problems in later life. I am now resigned to drinking beer ~(not too bad of course :).
I think tooth pain days after alcohol is caused by clenching/grinding at night. Thoughts?
Because some but not all people are mentioning white wine causes them problems but not red wine, then perhaps it is the sulfur dioxide which is added in higher amount to white wine? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_wine#Use_of_SO2
