When this happened to you, how long did the numbness last? This just began for me 6 days ago and it is worse in the morning as I'm having my coffee. Thanks

Numbness on the left side of my head, face, lips, and nose began a week ago after a late night of drinking. I had several red bulls and vodka. This is not a normal drink for me but I was at a reunion and was introduced to it by an old friend. My symptoms are worse in the morning so I'm beginning to think it is caffeine related. I've also been exposed to many chemicals throughout my life so it could be high levels of metals...Has anyone found anything that has eliminated these symptoms? I have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow.

I've had this for over 7 months now. The right side of my tongue, upper/lower gums are numb. Feels like I've just returned from the Dentist who went crazy with the freezing! In fact, I had lost a filling, had to go to the dentist and I told him no freezing whatsoever. I'm so numb, I didn't feel a thing. There is no swelling, but my lips feel stretched and sometimes crack because of it. My mouth is dry. I talk with a lisp. I've had one appointment with the Neurologist who sent me for a battery of tests. My blood work included testing for "foreign anomalies". The clinic had never heard of that one and they had to call him for more info. I've had an MRI of the brain in Sept. I finally had another one of the head yesterday, and today an MRI of my neck and throat. Two years ago (I was 52), I had a massive heart attack and have two stents. After reading the side affects of my heart medication, including baby aspirin, I stopped taking everything. I stopped taking my daily dose of aspirin, Crestor, B-12, Biprolol (for my stents) and Ramipril (to prevent another heart attack). I'd rather risk another heart attack than take medication which MAY contribute to this annoying condition. They all cause dry mouth. It's driving me crazy. It's interfering with my daily life, and my ability to socialize with my friends. There is no pain, just numbness. While waiting for results of all my tests, the neurologist put me on 300 mg Gabapentin to take 4 times a day. It helped a little. The numbness used to also include my gums around my molar on the right side. It felt like I had a massive glob of rubber in my mouth. It also at times spread to the back of my throat. I started to panic but I talked myself out of it and since taking the medication that has stopped. I actually hope they find something wrong so I can be treated. I feel for all of you and will continue to read your posts in the hopes that something worked for some of you.

Yes, I have numbness on my left side. All scans shows no abnormalities. I don't know what to do, I am diabetic, could it be the cause of this problem
