Im 22 years old male and I feel uneasy most of the day and it makes me breathe harder, making me feel even worse. Ill write a relatively long backstory and list the current symptoms in the end.
Several years ago, I was in the army and had severe breathing problems during the driest days of the winter. It only happened twice and I didnt really pay much attention to it afterwards. Some months ago I started having panic attacks that always happened when I felt that my breathing was somehow obstructed or if I thought that something had entered the lungs, like simple drinking water. I knew very well that there wasnt a problem, but I couldnt stop the panic attacks that lasted for a while. Sooner or later, the attacks went away.
Ive had somewhat congested nose all my life. I can only breathe through one nostril at a time. It has always slightly bothered me, but Ive learned to live with it and it didnt really matter that much. 1½ months ago my throat started hurting quite bad (if it started while eating, I could no longer swallow any food or drink water) but I didnt have fever and the pain wasnt there all the time. My mouth also started feeling very dry for several hours at a time and then it felt ok again. I went to the doctor though to find out what was wrong and to perhaps find some solution to my congested nose. The doctor didnt find anything and said that the throat pain and dry mouth was probably due to breathing through mouth more than normally and gave me a nasal spray that Id use every day (not one of those that quickly helps you breathe better, but one that simply relieves the mucous membranes and should give long term help). I have no food or other allergies at all, atleast none have been found yet.
The pain went away, but it started again some weeks ago. It hurts every now and then. My nose is also still as congested as before the medicine. Mouth and throat dries even if I dont breathe through mouth.
Now for the list of current symptoms, the ones that have been around for longer or appeared in recent weeks:
-Still congested nose.
-Dry mouth, throat, lips and sometimes eyes.
-Sometimes painful throat/neck area that can even prevent me from eating
-Ive lost around 6kg/13lbs in a relatively short time (noticeable muscle loss too)
-Constipation
-Normally Ive had temp around 36.7C/98F, but these days it's often below 36C/97F. In the morning it's usually around 35.5C/96F. Interestingly, working out sometimes lowers my body temperature.
-Ive always slept less than an average person, Ive had trouble falling asleep but I still woke up easily. Now I fall asleep quite fast but cant wake up easily, often sleeping up to 10 hours or more. I wake up to alarm clock's noise, if it's set to around 8 hours of sleep but cant come out of the bed at all. After a few extra hours of sleep I wake up easily and dont feel tired.
-I feel unmotivated
-Ive always had slight problems with flatulence, and rarely if ever belched. Now flatulence is gone, but I burp a lot, often 3 times in a row. This happens, no matter whether Ive eaten something or if I havent eaten anything for a while. It can happen even after simply drinking water.
-Also all my muscles are way more tense than normally, even though I havent changed my habits and I exercise like before. I started paying close attention to this problem as it's something I could perhaps fix, but nothing seems to help.
Sorry about this long wall of text. I just feel so uneasy that it's even distracting me from studying properly and I feel like Im just wasting my time unwillingly. Ive tried to find out what might cause these symptoms and GERD as well as Hypothyroidism seem to have similar symptoms. I most definitely have to go see a doctor again, but perhaps someone here has had similar situation and could share experiences and/or information?
