Hi... I am 43 and expecting second baby. Currently I’m 7 weeks along and just went for first U/S. After the U/S they said there was a slow heartrate, but wouldn't elaborate... What does this mean? What should I do? Is this something serious??? Please, help me find out what that is – I’m frightened!!

I really can't believe they didn't refer you directly to your OB or schedule another u/s!!! Did they say how slow? I wouldn't wait a single minute if I were you!!! I would certainly call and demand another u/s and would go to my OB immediately. You see, I had a somewhat similar situation when in at 6 weeks, when I took u/s, the heartbeat seemed slow. Doc didn't seem concerned because it was not too low, but, trust me, I was freaking out. I asked for another u/s which showed there wasn't anything wrong with my baby. I just hope it will be the same for you!!! Good luck!!
