Hi, for the last couple of weeks, I have been occasionally feeling a fluttering under my left eye. It is such an unpleasant feeling, and I don’t know if there is anything I can do about it. It only helps if I go to sleep. In the morning the fluttering is gone, but just for a while. Does anybody know what might be causing this?

Hi, it happened to me a couple of times. It feels like a muscle under my eye is jumping and I can’t control it. However, this is not just a feeling, it is a real fluttering! A person next to you can really see your eye jumping. It’s scary when this happens, because you don’t know how long it’s going to last. My eye doctor told me that a cause of this fluttering might be tiredness, so when this happens, I should try to get some sleep and avoid long sitting in front of the computer and TV. It also can happen when I’m under lot of stress, because it affects our body more than we think. Sometimes my whole face is jumping, and I think the cause of that might be the face nerve. I don’t know if this is the same that happened to you, but I will definetly visit my neurologist.

I have always understood that the fluttering eyelid is caused by lack of Vitamin B
