I just had a CT scan because my doctor thought my abdominal pain and spasms were caused from my liver. However and though this is my 3rd one for this same thing, same doctor (yes I am changing doctors) once again I submitted to this test. Results showed no mass or biliary duct dilatation to my liver. Or anything else actually for that matter. I orginally went to the doctor for a physical and for extreme discomfort after eating in my upper abdomen area, normally followed my bloating and constipation. Bloating often occurs without eating. I have spasms or as I call them cramps from time to time that occur on my right side seemingly close to my rib cage. These cramps last sometimes minutes and are comparable to a leg cramp that you walk out to make feel better, those these spasms or craps are not "walked" away. In " my "research I seem to have gallbladder problems.........what would my next step be to find out if this is in fact my problem? In other words (besides finding a new doctor) whose speciality would this be and what tests should I expect to have to submit to, or if that is the problem would they have seen that from the the CT Scan I had yesterday? HELP !! Do you have any idea what these symptoms would indicate?
i'm not sure if a CT scan is the same thing as an ultrasound? if you have gallstones (the most common gallbladder problem), they will most likely show up on an ultrasound.

are you female? you could also ask for a Ca125 blood test to rule out ovarian cancer - symptoms can be similar to what you're describing, but this is probably not the case and i'm suggesting it just to be safe!

good luck!
