I am trying not to be a hypochondriac and trying not to worry, but I confused and tired and "sick of feeling sick".
I am a 30 year old female - 5'8", 130lbs, former smoker, take Focalin XR daily and Necon 1/35 daily. (My tubes are tied...I take the Necon to try to control my heavy periods.)
I've got some stuff going on and I'm trying to figure out if the symtoms are related or not, and if I should be worried about cancer, or something else?
I recently have had my third abnormal pap smear in three years. (I have HPV.) I've had two LEEP procedures and will be having my third colposcopy tomorrow.
For several months I've been experiencing a dull, aching pain in my "kidney area" on my back. Very tender if pressed. I had a couple kidney stones a few months ago (diagnosed by MRI) and a kidney infection...had the dull pain prior to that, and it's not gone away. I've been told dull pain in that area is usually back pain, not kidney pain, but it's been present for a long time and is RIGHT over my kidneys, so I don't know.
The past couple weeks I've been experiencing almost daily nausea. Sometimes it comes out of nowhere, fast and furious and I have to either throw up (black stuff...gross) or sometimes the discomfort is somewhat relieved by diarrhea. When the nausea comes on quickly it's severe and overwhelming, causing lightheadedness, shakiness and clammy skin. Sometimes it comes on slowly and then I don't ever get to the point of actual needing to throw up but I feel miserable all day and feel like i have heartburn.
I have diarrhea fairly often...sometimes worse than others. Not watery, but definitely soft stools that are always changing in consistency and frequency.
I've been having intermittent left abdominal pain...it's sharp and catches me off guard and is severe, but only lasts a few seconds and then goes away. Always on the left side. Happens a couple times per week at most.
After intercourse, I experience vaginal and urinary discomfort (this has been for the past few months...all with one partner.) I have seen the doctor about this. He tested for a variety of STD's (negative) and suspected "urethral syndrom" but that hasn't been explored further since the abnormal pap with the upcoming appt. tomorrow. The post-sex discomfort got to the point that I have lost interest in sexual activity because I was almost guaranteed several days of extreme discomfort following.
My periods the past few months have gotten increasingly heavier and increasingly painful...to the point that I've been in tears and my stomach is so tender to touch that I can't move or stand up straight for the first day or two. After that the pain because "normal" but my periods last on average, 8-10 days, and my cycle can last anywhere from 25 to 40 days.
I'm just nervous and stressed and unsure what is going on, and I am anxious to feel better. Any insight would be much appreciated.
