I am 30 years old and have given birth to 5 babies. My oldest is 13 and my youngest are my 18 month old twins. I pumped my breast milk for almost 10 months. Its been nearly a year since and the other day I leaked a clear fluid out of my left breast. I have also been having the feeling of a "let down" for a couple of weeks. My hubby and I have no plans to have anymore children and with my menstral periods being so intence since having the twins, I have decided to have a historectomy. I dont know why I am leaking and having those pains. Can anyone shed some light on whats going on with me? Thanks
since no one answered this.

Its quite normal for women to continue to lactate, for up to 2years and more after stopping breastfeeding.

alot of women worry that it could be a problem with the pituatary gland, but in most cases theres absolutely nothing wrong.

i have even read of women continuing to lactate up to 15 years after stopping breastfeeding but these are very rare cases.

it would be a good thing to get a checkup done to make sure there are no underlying causes. otherwise its just another one of those strange mysteries of the female body.
