Hey I'm 16 and a girl and I usually masturbate in the shower. Two days ago while masturbating I got this massive headache all throughout the back of my head. I stopped and then slowly ( about 20 minutes or so) the headache went away. It's been really awkward because bearly anyone hears of girls masturbating. But anyway for those girls put there your not the only one! I'm going to go get it checked out I suggest you guys (and girls) do too.

Everyone calm down you not dying,   First you are young you body is going the amount of oxygen going to your brain and your penis are different.  You need to breathe a little more( get oxygen to your brain) also when you body is hot you blood vessel shrink.  The rapid movement of blood through consticted vessels is causing the pain.   COOL OFF.

I am 57 and had this happen for the first time today....it was an absolutely stabbing headache in the frontal region. I quit it hurt so badly and tried again later in the afternoon and it slammed me again. Interestingly, it is a very warm and humid day so I'll try again when I have the AC on and see if that helps. I'm an overall very healthy person, normal BP and weight, non-smoker and regular exerciser. All I can say is this is one ass kicker of a headache!

I am 60 and had this happen to me on and off for the past few years, the blood will also rush to the vesicles in the eyes and hurt terrible. Thought it was the heat, blood pressure, or the position I was in. Today I tried to  relax and let the feeling flow and not get too into it, this seem to help elevate the pressure and I did not get a headache.

I just had this in the shower I was standing up. I was almost done and it came, from halfway from my neck I the top of my head on the back it hurt. I took a panadol which is aspirin. It slowly subsided to the top of my head beating. I am 13 and have a toss every day can this effect it? It's my first headache ever..

this symptom is called  coital cephalalgia,  Also known as "sexual headaches", coital cephalalgia is a rare type of severe headachethat occurs at the base of the skull before orgasm during sexual activity, includingmasturbation. A pressor response to exercise has been suggested as a mechanism. The pain usually moves from the base of the skull through the head towards the frontal lobes. Extremely severe and sharp pain behind the eyes is also a symptom. The headaches usually have an immediate onset, with some gradually worsening during intercourse and others (referred to as "explosive headaches") occurring almost instantaneously at the moment of orgasm. These headaches typically last for a few minutes to a few hours, although it is possible for such headaches to last up to a few days.

Coital cephalalgia can frequently occur in a timeframe that exertion headaches occur. It is most common for men to experience these headaches for the first time in their early 20s, or between the ages of 35-44; the reason for this is unclear.

More prevalent in men, by a ratio of 3:1, these headaches appear in roughly 1% of the population, though it has been suggested that the prevalence may be higher, due to the embarrassment of presenting with the disorder, especially in cases where spontaneous remission occurs after a few days. Up to 10% of patients taking medication for erectile dysfunction may experience these headaches. It is important to see a doctor if you have such symptoms in order to rule out a potential brain aneurysm, or tumors. In most cases, these headaches are benign. More serious symptoms include a stiff neck, confusion, and dizziness. As for treatment, a doctor may recommend temporarily suspending sexual activities and masturbation for a short period of time ranging from a few days to a few weeks. In addition, doctors may recommend medications such as Propranolol that can be taken in advance of sexual activity to prevent such headaches. Reduction in weight to a more ideal level and increased exercise may also reduce the likelihood of recurrences. A doctor may wish to order a CT scan to exclude intracranial bleeding or a mass lesion as a cause for this pain, however in the absence of other symptoms this may not be routine. Indomethacin has also been tried.

I find that breathing steadily during masturbation helps. Also a little help. If you masturbate to pictures your brain doesnt get the sound wich causes an increase in jizz so when you...you know..."finish" it could be caused by lack thereof if youwant to keep masturbating to pictures simply play sex noises in the backgrounfd

i just wanted to say i haven't laughed so hard in a while reading some comments... especially the last one about playing sex noises in the background

i have the same problem and i've had it for years, i'm 25... it happens when i been jackin for too long.... simply stop jacking off and it'll go away, that works 100% of the time with me..... thing is we men are animals and will never back down for some more sex... but that solution is a guarantee

There are a lot of stupid and troll replies here so I thought it would be a good idea to put the whole topic to rest and explain what you're all going through.

Basically you all have 1 or both of 2 things.
1. A sinus blockage/runny nose
2. An infection

Without getting really technical because I see some people as young as 12 here freaking out. The cure for this I really simple.

BREATHE!!

If you want to have an orgasm so badly whilst you're sick, then you're going to have to breathe a whole lot more. At the moment with your infection or sinus blockage or both, your brain isn't getting enough oxygen. You'll also notice that when you get sick the muscles in your back and neck get sore and full of 'cricks' more often.

The smartest thing to suggest would be to stop. But that's hard for us because lots of us masterbate for different reasons. To relieve stress, to enjoy ourselves etc. You'll find that this doesn't happen whilst having sex because you're using different muscles and you're breathing a whole lot more. If you really need to cum, ask your partner for a hand, or a mouth etc. Haha.

Here's what you can do to fix the problem:

1. If you really want to continue then take an asprin. Something like Burana 400mg etc (at least 30 mins beforehand) then remember to breathe lots! When masturbating we often forget to breathe. This isn't a problem when we aren't sick.

2. If you're scared and smart you'll stop. You're sick, even if you don't realise it. I think a lot of you are silly and hid the fact that you have a cold. Just put it off for a day, try tomorrow. If it doesn't work, try the next day etc. If that doesn't work then:

3. See your doctor. This will almost definitely be a waste of time and money. He or she will tell you what I am now. They'll immediately stick a light up your nose and down your throat and rell you that you have a cold and a minor infection. They'll either give you a course of antibiotics or tell you to take it easy and drink some tea. Then hand you the doctors bill.

For a background note. This happened to me for the first time ever after going through a 5 day flu. Started off with a horrible sore throat and nothing else. No problems masturbating. Next day horrible throat and blocked nose. No problems masturbating still. Third day, throat is totally fine, nose is completely blocked. No problems masturbating still. Fourth day nose is runny, head feels like it's blocked and made of oil, very mild/minor headache. Nothing else. Tried masturbating in the shower, instant onset of a huge migrane that felt like it was pulling my head through my neck and down into my stomach. Hand went stiff and cramped. Got dizziness etc. Tried again in a bit. Same thing. Just managed to rub one off, barely. Ended up hyperventilating on the floor of the shower for close to 20 minutes and then on the sofa for another 20. Fifth day, runny nose and that's it. Tried again sitting down this time, no difference. The moment I started to enjoy myself it started to hurt. Pretty serious pain around the back of the head near the neck. But really the pain was everywhere. I slowed down, took a break, thought of the best thing I could and breathed tons. Go through it with a little bit of a headache, no shortness of breath afterwards.

Anyway so you guys have a cold or infection or both. Take a break, take an aspirin, have sex instead. Just remember to breathe because if you pass out it will scare the hell out of your parents/roommate/girlfriend and will look horrible.

You don't have a tumor and you're totally normal. And no you don't need to see a doctor and NO you won't have this for the rest of your life. Just chill out. Think of drinking the water that grandma's teeth stay in at night. Turn yourself off and occupy yourself with something else.

Hopefully I've put this whole topic to rest now. It doesn't need any more of the same replies over and over.

P.S. I'm 21 and Australian.

I also forgot to mention it seems to make it worse if you stand up. So sit down but don't lie down.
