I have the same problems as everyone here. #1 you do not go to a cardiologist because he is like a plummer of the heart detecting structural deformities and such, go to an electophysiologist because they deal with the electrical part of the heart. I havve both a cardiologist and electrophysiologist also a rheumatologist and internal specialist but the last two have nothing to do with the heart lol. I have several doctors and have learned alot. Irregular heartbeats that start occuring more frequently can be dangerous. Mine started when i was a little kid and nothing was thought about it and then at 26 it happened but the flutters didn't stop like they usually do and I had syncope( fainted) right in the middle of grocery shopping. If you do not get to the bottowm of it, it can happen anywhere anytime. The doctor pulled my license until I could show signs of improvement after all these test. Now ablation as previously mentioned is a good idea but not always the solution. It depends on what is causing it. It can be caused by sleep apnea and most people don't know they have it. First get a sleep study because if it is from sleep apnea, wearing a breathing maching at night is alot safer than an ablation. Electrophysiologist are super smart but kinda hard to find. I drive 90 miles one way just to see mine. But then again I do live in arkansas. XD

My problem is very similar. Its not constant, happens maybe once every other month, so i wouldn't really call it a problem. i'm just curious.. I could be throwing the football, relaxing watching tv, or working hard and fast paste at the restaurant i work at. Weather i'm relaxed or anxious, my heart will occasionally feel like it sunk... like it got pulled down and took my lungs with it forcing me to exhale when the sinking happened, and so i have to quickly struggle to take a deep breath to make sure my lungs are still functioning. And when i took a deep breath, everything was fine. Is this just a different way to describe the same way you were feeling? or do you think its something different?

omg i am adzactly the same im 20 year old female and have been suffering with angziety and insomnia since i was 18 i would lie there at night no being able to sleep because i would constantly be worried that my heart was going to stop if i fell asleep. i would have my hand on my heart the whole night. ive been to the doctors alot about it and they say there is nothing wrong with me but i just feel like well there must be because no one else i know feels like this. i got diagnosed with angziety. i dont have insomnia anymore but i still occasionally suffer from angziety and heart fluttering i get a real tightness in my chest and its a struggle to breath i feel like im going to die sometimes..now when i get that instead of just freaking out and making it worse i go and see my friends and just keep myself busy and it makes me forget about it.

I'm having the same problems as everyone else on here, heart flutters big time! My general doctor had me wear an event monitor for 30 days and they found nothing significant. They saw the skipped beats and heart flutters, but do not think there is anything wrong. I think I'm going to find a cardiologist and see what they have to say.

Started taking magnesium, vitamin d, and a good multi vitamin. Seems to have helped somewhat, but not totally.

I know it's been four years since this post, but here is some additional info. If you haven't yet, you need to go to your doctor and ask to be referred to a heart specialist (Cardiologist) and as far as not having the symptoms present when you visit your doctor, I don't think that should make any difference, your doctor and or the Cardiologist should set you up with a Holter Monitor. I have used two types, one that monitored my heart for 24 hours and another (smaller) that monitored my heart for two weeks. If I had your symptoms & my doctor told me not to worry about it, I would get another Primary Care Doctor.

Sounds like you need to see a heart specialist, a Cardiologist. My Primary Care doctor was trained as a Cardiologist, but he doesn't practice as a Cardiologist (he's a Family Doctor) he referred me to one. Point is, even though my Primary was trained as a Cardiologist, he had sense enough to send me to a specialist.

I'm going to see a cardiologist on my own. I have a PPO, so I don't need a referral. Hopefully, I will get some answers. Since I started using Magnesium and Vitamin D, I seem to notice less heart palps. I've also cut back BIG TIME on the coffee and have noticed a difference.

Hi I'm a 16 year old girl and I've had these same symptoms for about 5 years, when I was born the doctors found that I had an innocent heart murmur and it had faded away. I'm a dancer and I'm active and healthy but stress really enduces this feeling. Whenever I walk upstairs or anything little like that I feel as if I can't slow my heart down and it really wears me out. People have told me that it's still a murmur or that maybe i'm just too stressed but doctors can't do anything about it, I'm not diagnosed with anything and I've just learned to deal with it. I just worry that my heart is unhealthy and will just get worse as I get older but I haven't been told anything yet so hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

HI EVERYONE. TRY TAKING SOME MAGNESIUM. A LOT OF BOTTLE WATER DRINKERS DO NOT GET THE MINERALS THEY NEED. MAGNESIUM HELPS TO REGULATE THE HEARTBEAT. TAKE IT WITH CALCIUM TO HELP YOUR BODY ABSORB IT BETTER.

ive had the same thing, its scary.. everyone thinks your just tripping out over nothing.. eventually it DOES go away, so whenever that happens, just think "it'll go away" and if it doesnt? and gets worse? call 911 right away and pray for the best.  ive called 911 10 times already, one doctor told me "its just chest wall pain" and my other doctor said nothing showed up on the ekg, but then i read somewhere, that if your heartbeat goes fast for no reason and its really bugging you.. then you may have to get something into your heart that will help your heart beat normal.. it makes me feel a bit better knowing there are other people going through this, im not alone. hopefully someone will find out what this is one day.. amen!!

I am a 17 yr old and have been having some curious issues involving my heart, and at this point its really starting to bug me and scare me. I, like some of you that i read your posts, am experiencing shortness of breath, weird heart palpitations and blackouts. I can't recall if its induced by stress, but i do know that it just happens out of the blue. it could be as random as sitting in class, to as casual as sitting watching TV. When it happens, i can feel my heart beat erratically and it hurts to breathe. Im scared that one day it's going to go too far and i'm going to end up having an actual heart attack. I'm a perfectly healthy teen; i play sports, i exercise good eating habits, i do not smoke or drink. My mom knows about it but she's never actually felt my heart when it happens, and she hadn't take me to the doctor yet. does anybody think this is abnormal and thinks i should see the Dr.? or should i just pass it off as just a minor palpitation?

Wow you sound exactly like me! And it freaks you out too, right? I mean i have to climb 4 flights of stairs every morning to my first class and it feels as if im going to die because my heart is beating too fast and i can't breathe. I do golf and bowling and i mean its not the same as dancing, but im not a couch potato either. I haven't been to the doctor and im nervous that if i do, they're just going to write it off or actually tell me there's something wrong. My friends little sister, shes a swimmer so she's more than healthy, has the same thing but in her case she had to get a heart difibrilator because she had it so severe. I really hope nothing is bad for either of us because we are way too young to be having to worry about this.
