I'm guessing that there are many different causes. Some may have allergies, colds or excessive earwax that are causing inflammation in the ear. Others are having tinnitus, some may have neck, teeth, spine, heart or throat issues. Go to the doctor, and if he doesn't give you an answer, go to another one. Keep going until you find an answer. Better safe than sorry!
i am also glad to hear that others have this problem. For years I have experienced a beating in my head when I lay down at night on my right side. This only happens once in a while. I went to the ear doctor to see if he could figure out the cause, they did an mri and checked my hearing, nothing found. This has been going on for at least the last 10 years. It is annoying when this happens, it almost feels like something popping in your head.
Hai , I am 26 years old recently i had facial palsy and i went to ENT and it got cured in a week after that i start hearing HeartBeat in my ears but the same doctor told me its a virus infection it takes another 3 months to go i do no what to do , now i am pregnant now i am so worrying about my baby.........
I started hearing my heart beat also almost 3 years ago. Sometimes it's low, mostly it is very loud making life uncomfortable. It is not tinnitus. I finally found out the hard way and you all MUST see a cardiologist. It is one or more valves in the heart not working, the heart is sending blood through the valves and one or more are not closing all the way and sending the blood back to the heart. The heart is working overtime and this is putting a strain on the heart which could be life threatening. In a couple of weeks I am having heart surgery to correct this on two valves. In 2008 I heard a first sound in my head, a dull thud for a few years and it was a sign of blockage of arteries and had to have open heart surgery. Tinnitus is a ringing or maybe a buzzing in your ears, not thuds or hearing your heart, these are serious problems that MUST be checked out, signs of health problems that need correcting. A lot of doctors don't know this, you must see a heart specialist. Please don't ignore this, if you do you can very likely suffer a heart attack or stroke or I don't mean to scare you, even death. I learned in time and want to spread the word.
Hello! Yes this happens to me every month, a week or days after my period. Recently I open an Ad on my android phone (Period tracker) I found out that on Ovulation day is the night my right ear beats. It could be some hormonal issue But I am very curious, why does it always happens at nights, not during the day?
My pulsatile tinnitus is definitely more pronounced when I am about to have my period. And mine only happens at night too. It is a high pitch cricket noise pulsating to the rhythm of my heartbeat. I've read that when it happens at night it has to do with stress and anxiety. I notice that when I drink a lot of water that helps.
I think it is just so insensitive of you to tell people to relax when they are experiencing a very uncomfortable sound through their ear. The sound is bad, annoying and drives me crazy! Have you ever been awakened by this horrendous sound and unable to go back to sleep and wake up with puffy eyes? Maybe you just heard of it and are not experiencing it and you think you know what it is, but really you don't . Stop being insensitive !
You are probably right but it is annoying to hear it every night, I switch to my right side as it is less than my left side. I am not an anxious person, I don't have blood pressure issues and my hearing is fine but sometimes I feel like I have a pinched nerve that runs through my neck down my left side . I don't have the thumping during the day, just at night. The only other time I have had this is when I had hyperthyroidism but my pulse doesn't seem quite fast enough at this point for this.
I have kind of the same problem..I can hear my heart beat in a throbbing manner on the right side and only on this side, every time I bend, or lay down and lean on my right side. The left has no "abnormal" symptoms so far. What bothers me the most, I love to sleep on my right side and now I can't do that.
I have this problem too and I have found out that it is linked to medication that I am taking look up you side effects of any medication that you are taking and I bet you will find the answer
I began hearing my heartbeat in both ears a few days following a shot of steroids in my knee. I am going crazy as I need to sleep. I got up last night and went to the recliner and put one ear plug in my right ear as it seemed to be the worse with this noise. I have never had this before except for a few seconds falling to sleep and then it was a more normal sound. This one grows more loud as I am in the bed. Benadryl does help.
I discovered that using a different pillow stopped the heartbeat sound in my ear. If I sleep on a down, feather or a gel pillow the sound is loud. If I sleep on a regular fiber pillow no heartbeat sound.
Try changing pillows.
