I started taking the depo proverb shots after my son was born. I was only 19 at the time. I took the shot for over 2years and my periods have not been right ever since. I went 4 years without a period. I am now 40 years old and my periods are still not right. I am now a very heavy bleeder and am passing huge blood clots. I have also been diagnosed with anemia. It's getting so bad I can't stand up without gushing blood. I am very concerned. Please if anyone can help me I will take all advice given.

I would not recommend depo to any one! It creates more havoc than good. Also pay close attention to the way your doctor communicates, his or source of information, and even body language. Some doctors don't have the sensitivity or empathy to even share with their patients the possible outcome of taking depo.

I so agree with you! I had the same issue for years and I'm only 25 now. My herbalist was able to help me stop the bleeding and regulate my periods! Stop the tears and hopelessness. Find a good herbalist! Good luck to all!

Hello ladies!... so I'm 26 and I was on the pill for a year and 6months. I have now been off the pill for 6months...my body is now trying to to get its rhythm back but I haven't had the best time either:(..after I stopped my pills I had a period 3 weeks after my last birth control period and it seemed normal... then I had another about 5 weeks after which it seemed normal as well.. no big clots or nothing... next... I missed my period for 3 months.. and a week going into my 4th month I started a very slow cycle... which has now gone on for 3 weeks... and it has gradually increased and amount of blood. My second week I got appendicitis (which I feel was a side effect from the pill) and I started seeing the big clots right as I got it... I was home recovering but I was passing huge clots.. well now the clots are slowly decreasing and a tad smaller... they were the length of my thumb... I HIGHLY suggest that you get on a multi-vitamin for women which folic acid, take iron(but make sure you do NOT over do it as you can cause constipation or iron poisoning) and take vitamin C... the pill actually causes us to become very deficient in A LOTA OF Nutrients and it's good practice to add that back to your diet... be healthy... eat lots of organic veggies... I'm on a gluten free diet as well as pretty much 85% meat free... I exercise and get plenty of rest... these things will help your body replenish what it needs to balance your hormones.. and if worse comes to worse definitely get fertility help...

They are probably tumors that actively bleed...can br dangerous in some instances...treated by everything from pills to iud to even having uterus removed...i am dealing with thr same thing now myself..and yes its aweful ive been literally in bed for a week ruined all my panties and pj's sheets its a disaster... So i feel your pain... I am past having children so if mine cant be treated or safely removed i may just have my uterus out but you still want to consider fertility... Since you have had the hormones and other blood work come back normal and bcp didnt help u need to find a good ob gyn who deals with these and can help you with other treatment options... Good luck

Hello I'm 31 and have been experiencing big blood clots and heavy bleeding since yesterday. It has me really scared because I have never experienced this before. I haven't been able to do anything or go anywhere since this has been going on. I have been wearing 2 pads to catch the blood clots and heavy bleeding. But I've been changing them every 15 minutes. I'm ready to break down and cry. I have called my OB/GYN and I'm waiting for a call back. Not sure how to handle this. I have 3 step kids who want to go out and play and want me to do things with them but I can't with this heavy bleeding and passing blood clots every 10-15 minutes.
