It is important to note that IMPETIGO does not cause any pain, just itching and crusting. If you have a cluster of tiny that are sore and develop into yellow crusts over the course of 2 or 3 weeks, this is most definitely HERPES SIMPLEX or COLD SORES as they're more commonly known.

IMPETIGO is a bacterial infection... If you are repeatedly getting IMPETIGO... I would recommend that you clean everything in your house thoroughly and wash all clothing / bedding etc... as it is highly contagious... No one... should be repeatedly getting impetigo... you are more likely getting shingles or herpes and should be on medication for that... it can be induced by stress, sunburn, injuries...

I have had it for as long as I can remember I am going to college in the fall. Not only do you have to deal with the hideous stuff that you, believe your the only one going through, have on your nose but you also have to deal with people staring and idiots asking what is it that is making you some kind of freak. Because apperantly as soon as you get it your not the same person. >;) Please give me any and all advice to get rid of it sooner. :-D

I have gotten the blister outbreaks on my top lip and inside my nostril. I have tried many things and have zero success to relieve the pain or length of time. Blistex, abrieva, peroxide, and nothing. The pain is intense and last about 2 weeks. I have no idea what I can do.

i have had these things for years as well.. i went to the doctor and they said that it s a staph infection. they said that everyone has staph inside of their nose and when i get sick and blow my nose alot it always comes back! i hate it and it is painful.my doc put me on this staph medication and gave me a cream to apply onto it anytime it starts to appear. before i had ever went to the doctor for this i had used cold sore meds to get rid of it but i recommnd you go and get the right ointment to treat it. And they do spread very quickly if u pop the little blisers!!

I had no idea that others were suffering with this same horrible condition! It seems that every time I'm stressed, I break out on the inside of one of my nostrils! this time, the breakout inside my right nostril is very mild, but I have a HUGE cluster of what appear to be blisters on the OUTSIDE of my nostril! This is the first time I've broken out on the outside of my nostril. My doctor told me to use Neosporin on the inside (which I've already been doing for many years) but now I don't know what to use on the outside of my nose! This is very painful and embarrassing to say the least-I asked my pharmacist, and he recommended that I use Abbrieva (or however you spell it). I got a second opinion from another pharmacist who told me not to use the cold sore meds--I don't know what the hell to do! I'm thinking that if it gets any worse tomorrow, I'll run down to the store and buy the cold sore med. Thoughts???

I have had this also since I was about 10 years old, I am now 40.  I have flare ups occassionaly, as matter of fact right now,  and it's usually after I have been sick and my immune system is down, so I am sure it is viral.  As we all no u can't really do anything for a virus but let it run its course.  I have always washed mine with phisoderm and been told to put vitamin E on it.  In the last few years I have even bought tea tree oil and used it on the breakout seems to help to dry it up somewhat, and have even taken vitamin E capsules by mouth.  It is a terrible thing and very embarrassing to deal with wouldnt wish it on anyone.  I am going to try some of the suggestions from these post hopefully something will speed up the recovery from this!  Thanks for you posts!

I get these impetigo blisters all the time either on the columella of the nose or the base of my lower lip. As soon as I notice them I pop them and put a styptic pencil on them. It will burn like hell but the clear fluid gets dried immediately and within a couple of hours the blisters are gone. It takes about 3 more days and the area is healed. I'm telling you this works for me every time. Save yourself the hassle and just get a styptic pencil.

I have been getting the blister since 6 years old. It deformed my nostrils, one is bigger than the other. The best thing to use is neosporin! it goes away within 3 days and that's what I've been using for most of my life. It's painful and itchy but 3 days is nothing compare to what I am reading.
