my son was diagnosed with impetigo and antibiotics are clearing it up. tbh unless it is swabbed i think the doctors are only guessing. one side was healing/scabbing up by the time the appointment came round anyway.
when my daughter had impetigo on her chin a few yrs back, it was quite severe and lasted for weeks. im not convinced its the same thing my son had.

WOW !! every since i was a small child i would get little blisters under my nose and it hurt to touch them and they were unsightly and grotesque. But i was always under the impression that it was a cold sore, but this helps so much. So maybe this time i can Get it gone !! Thanks for the info !!:-)

The last time I got one, it was gone in less than a week. I cleaned it w/hydrogen peroxide/ I put on a "face mask" to help dry it up. during the day I wore a small band aid to help w/the drainage/w a dab of anti bio ointment.. I did this before it spread profusely when not kept in location. The turnaround was much faster and no pain this time

I don't swipe, I dab with a qtip hyrdrogen peroxide. I've also found a hot wet cloth placed on the sore works great too, to help w/drainage. then as I said I put mask on it to help draw it out at first. and conspicuous as it i wear a little band aid on it while it drains. all this helps. and it's gone w/in a week. No expensive 20 dollar meds. if you don't have a face mask .. use baking soda and anti bio ointment/dab that on w/a qtip

ALMOST A COMPLETE CURE FOR ME!!! I have posted here before with some of the things I have tried with this problem that I have had very regularily for 30 years. I tried the L-Lysine supplements that was recommended by some posters. Being someone who had this problem on average 20x per year, since taking 500mg of L-Lysine supplement daily over 6 months ago, I haven't had one single instance since (KNOCK ON WOOD!!!). Give this a try as this might be the treatment for you. My daughter hasn't had any since either as I think I was spreading the bacterial infection to her. I am 99% sure mine was a bacterial infection causing impetego and not a viral cold sore like some people may have. These bacteria thrive in the mucous membranes of the sinuses. Good luck!!!

It could very well be what I have....it's called- Impetigo. I went to the dr yesterday after being fed up with the blister thing, it goes right up my nose and is quite agitating being itchy and sore until finally forming a scab to heal (which can take up to 2 weeks sometimes) I was SO glad I saw this dr yesterday my aunty recommended and even though I had to pay consultation fee's, it was WELL worth it!!! the cream took effect pretty much as soon as I put it on!! the pain just diminished! anyway, it's called -Bactroban cream. Wash hands before and after applying and apply 3 times a day.
But hey! I'm not a dr, it could very well be a cold sore too.... So that's why I have added this useful link for all you peeps out there...and as far as I know! alot of people suffer from this horrid blister

I really think that some people here are describing herpes. A small cluster of clear blisters. Impetigo is honey colored. I actually think it's a mix in this thread that some people are describing herpes, which I currently have in my left nostril and is exactly like the ones I get on my lips and impetigo, which I don't have. So I don't think it's fair to tell everyone that they have Impetigo.

You're not very useful. I had the same exact thing and it's not ONLY impetigo, you normally have to go to a doctor where they pop a blister and send it in to be tested, mine came back as herpes, you should probably do a little more research before telling someone to not listen to someone else because you're not fully aware. I have bad allergies and get the blisters from blowing my nose too many times.

Was glad to find this post and have a base to research and learn from. Started with a small, painful break out of tiny blisters near my left nostril opening. Turned out to be a Staph infection called Impetigo. Probably contracted it from garden soil or contact with cats (small children can also be a common source). Used over the counter triple antibiotic and rubbing alcohol to clean and control spread of infection. Total of 14 days from beginning to end of the infection. The triple antibiotic with pain reliever was especially helpful as the sore was uncomfortable.

I'm a nurse...over 90% of people are exposed to this particular herpes virus by the time they are 2 years old. It is very common and easily spread. Often, the virus lays dormant and many people have no idea they even carry the virus. It's nothing to be too concerned about, but you should be aware that during an outbreak, you can easily spread the virus to other people or other areas of the body.

For the first time last year,I got bisters in my eye socket.I thought it may have been caused by dust off the streets in Vietnam.I am back in NZ now and Im feeling the same sort of pain, dry eye,but also I have a scab that wont go away,on the inside end of nose and it feels like I have blind zits around the rest of my nose.At night the swelling makes it hard to breath.Hence I get a dry mouth.Could this be that I have herpes as well ? What a horrible name:-(
