That's crazy. I had one when I was 17. Its still there. Back hip area. I'll be 30 in July. My doctor told me it would go away oflver time. I think I've given it enough time now....

Need to see a plastic surgeon. Ultasound over the area should be done. Im having my hematoma surgically removed. Its 2 weeks old and i cant take the pain anymore despite the pain pills. Life is too short to have any discomfort.

GO TO A PHYSICAL THERAPIST THAT USES A DIATHERMY MACHINE(ULTRASOUND). IT WORKED FOR ME.

A Plastic Surgeon will use a Liposuction procedure to remove a large hematoma. It can be done on an outpatient basis.

For the last three years I had a similar hematoma in my butt cheek...same deal, no one knew how to get rid of it until now. I am now seeing an athletic therapist (kinda like a physiotherapist and a massage therapist put together). I have noticed a significant softening and reduction in size of my lump since she has been working on it (extremely painful massage specifically directed at the site). She said the blood didn't get fully reabsorbed by my body so it basically hardened and is now sitting there causing trouble.

I have the same issue and am only 16, I have had my hematoma for almost 4 months now and am worried because a few people have told me that if i don't do something about it it will soon calcify and remain on my left side thigh for the rest of my life. Doctors have been telling me that it will go away within 6-12 months but i have seen no improvement so far. Did you end up going to a dermatologist? Did you receive the help and advice you needed?

Did you see a dermatologist? Ive had the same problems since July of 08. I kept thinking it would get better as they claimed it would. I too have been in pain after any activity....

I have one that is 8 years old and it ended up getting cellulitis in it. I was sent to a vascular doctor who did a sonogram and said it was not in the veils. He is sending me to a plastic surgeon to see about removing it. It is still painful and discolored, so I'm hoping the plastic surgeon will remove what ever is in it. It sticks out about 1/2" from my leg and if I accidently hit it, it hurts and swells.

I dont want to get it drained because I dont want a dent or anything in my butt...did the massaging work??... did it finally go down??! I will massage the c**p out of this thing if that works I just dont want any surgery!

I had a huge hematoma on my hip after a fall 7/4/15. Went to ER. ER dc tried to send me home.... as I got up I passed out. Blood tests and CT noted big issues. Was admitted. Late 7/5 an orthopedic surgeon showed up and said it was best to surgically deal with it. Had surgery 7/6. Home 7/8. He said I would Ave been impaired forever, but 70% of surgeons would not have done procedure. While I'm in some major discomfort, I know this was the right thing.

about six months ago i was kicked at my breast and i noticed a big lump was there...i took norgesic and after a few months, the size of the lump was reduced but i still hurts..i had an ultrasound yesterday and they found a mass and its size was 1.37x0.94 cms. a doctor suggested that i should have it removed, but i am hesitant because im afraid with surgery procedures...another doctor said that i should continue cold compress and eventually it will cure, what should i do?

I also have had a hematoma on my butt cheek for a few years now, doctors just keep saying it will probably go away on it's own...feel like I keep getting fobbed off !
Did you get any further on with the recommendation of massaging ?
