THis is the answer from Herbalife. Although I really wanted to use Herbalife to control my weight during pregnancy..I just cant risk:
Dear,
Our recommendation and Herbalife's official recommendation regarding using the products while pregnant or breast feeding is the following:
All nutritional supplementation during pregnancy or while breast feeding should be discussed with a prenatal physician prior to use. Optimum nutrition during pregnancy is important in maintaining health during this special time. Although Herbalife products are safe to be consumed by most adults, the products are not formulated for pregnant women. It is therefore important to discuss product use with a physician who can best determine which products are most appropriate for their patient’s health goals and nutritional needs.
In short: Herbalife products are not recommended while pregnant. Please turn to your personal doctor to receive help with suitable nutrition during pregnancy.
is there any problem if i take herbalife s multivitamins instead of pronatals?
Hi guys I was using herbalife at the begining of my preg, you are only allowed one shake a day as it has max vitamin A in, All sellers will tell you its fine go ahead but they just want you to carry on buying.. my advice one shake no vits etc etc just that one shake, tea is fine though xxxxx be careful!!!
Hi what I can tell you through my experience is I started Herbalife in December of 2012 and in July I found out I was already 6months pregnant, with no symptoms and I had irregular periods, and last time checked for pregnancy was in October, which was negative, so then I started Herbalife to lose weight and just got so into it, I never felt sick, just kept feeling better and healthier and yet my baby was still growing and still healthy in the womb, and I was taking all types of stuff from Herbalife adding more protein and fiber to my shakes, the Herbal tea, and certain supplements to help you loose faster, but when finding out about the pregnancy, I was told by my Herbalife Reps. that just to drink the shakes and stop drinking the tea and any pills. The doctors do say that my weight loss probably had a lot to do with me getting pregnant. So now I drink the shakes mainly in the mornings, but right now since im already 71/2months,i drink it more for something nutritious but still eat regular meals the rest of the day. Good luck!!!
UNSAFE!!!! I was 6 weeks pregnant when I lost my baby. I misscarried and my doctors have need to believe that it was due to taking Herbalife.
can i drink the shakes even if im pregnant.
From what I know of Herbalife products and my understanding of nutrition in pregnancy I would not use them.
Many Herbalife products are maufactured, processed shakes which contain added vitamins which can be harmful in pregnancy e.g. Vitamin A.
I would suggest that the best diet would be one containing fresh food, properly cooked with plenty of fresh vegetables. Would probably work out cxheaper that HL too!
And ONLY take vitamin supplements that are intended for women in pregnancy. They will give you the right balance to help your baby develop properly.
Hello. I want to discuss about herbal life during pregnancy.
I'm a nutritionist I have ten years experience and specialise in fertiility and pregnancy. I also trained for 3 years with 200 clinical hours, which gives me some credibility compared to those who have max 1 week training before 'advising' people potentially on dangerous food replac nets such as Herbalife. This should not be used by pregnant mothers or children, as it isn't real food And is formulated for people who should really be cooking and putting a bit more effort into their food choices At this time of their life as it will effect the hardwiring of their babies brain their building of skeletal firm, organs reproductive health and immunity for life and to continue their family line. Please eat a healthy diet and supplement using something fantastic such as thorne research basic prenatal. There may not be issues now but this could have long term effects on yourhealth and immune issues with the child long term.
