Definitely do not use Colloidal Silver. It's poisonous.
There is some tissue culture (ie. tiny little test plates of cells) evidence for the effectiveness of reducing arginine and increasing lysine, but this doesn't do you any harm. In reducing high arginine foods though, I'd be careful to keep your tryptophan intake high. Tryptophan is a serotonin precursor found in nuts and meat (and chocolate) and it's needed so you can make the serotonin that will reduce your stress, and increase your happiness which are much more likely to be the triggers of outbreaks.

I just wanted to add, that you can NOT spread herpes from towels! Herpes is a very fragile disease and dies not long after being off of the body! The only way you can get herpes from someone is having DIRECT contact to their infected area.

This is untrue. I get outbreaks of blisters on the back of one leg, closer to my knee than my buttocks. I've had the blisters tested and they were HSV 2. I have never had an outbreak in the genital area, and my husband does not have herpes. He has a vasectomy so we have unprotected sex and he has never gotten herpes from genital contact. Perplexing, but the blisters are definitely HSV2. Avoid nuts and chocolate and protect against stress and sleep deprivation. Keep the Valtrex on hand to take at the first sign, usually tingling and itching. L-lysine, an over the counter supplement, helps many people. Don't worry about it too much. It's pretty common.

Why do you say avoid nuts and chocolate. As I said above, they contain tryptophan which helps make the serotonin which will reduce your stress (not massively but hey! who doesn't like eating chocolate!) :) :)

He is contagious...Men will not get this at all or as fast as females. I would leave him alone.

Hi, I only have it only on my leg. Nowhere near my genitals. Can I still transmit it to my husband during sexual intercourse if there is no skin to skin contact?

Ask your Doctor about Prednazone and cover blisters with Calimine lotion especially during eruption periods. L-Lizine and Vit C are also helpful. Using these tactics usuall in a week or so sores are healed. Good luck

I have a spot on the back of my thigh and I have a break out once a year for the last three years. I have not been sexually active for at least 5 years. I had it tested and it is herpes. I am just trying to figure out how I may have gotten it. My nephew and his wife have genital herpes could I have gotten it by going to the bathroom right after one of them?

I also have it on my thigh! First time! For the past 4 years I have had it at the top of my buttocks!! Before that on my lips but since it's been somewhere else I haven't had it on my lips so I guess the nerve endings have travelled? It can't be contagious else my husband would have it and never has? My children that take after me have it but my daughter that takes after her dad never has it. But why on my thigh??
