I had my left replaced in 2009 because of artritis. I am now 57 yrs old and looking at replacing the right hip soon due to extreme pain on the right side. My right hip will be done with the anterior approach this time.

First of all, two days after the surgery I dislocated the left hip due to no raised toilet seat in the rehap hospital. (Go figure!) It took about nine months for me to feel comfortable moving the hip. Living in fear of dislocating that hip again. Now after three years I do feel very comfortable with movment of the left hip. But I do have a clicking sound, and rough movement like something is caught up in between the hip.  Sometimes I do hear a squeaking sound also.

I have been searching the web for answers and if anyone has this problem.

It took me about 9 months to feel  normal   had anterior hip replacement with pop out after the first months(that prob cost me at least 3 months more in recovery process)  so hear  I am  still doing more PT gradually getting to the point where I can stand up for more than 2 hours
