I am planning to go to the gym. I want to live healthier life. Also I want to build-up my body mass. I am too skinny. My wish is to become strong. But I don't know anything about weight lifting. For example, how do I choose proper weights? I am open for every suggestion.

I do workouts for couple of years. There is nothing to be afraid of. At the beginning you can lift only a few pounds. Don't let it discourage you. Start with the weight you can lift 12 times. When you can easily lift them for 12 times increase weight up to 10% at a time.
