I have weird feet, and I bought some sketchers casuals a while ago, and have been running in those. I like them alot, but some stuff on the internet said that shoes like the ones I have (Minimal padding) can cause damage. My joints and my feet do not hurt when I run, and I am a big guy. Would there be another indication?

You said your feet and joints dont hurt when you run...How far have you ran?? I am brand new to this forum and so far It seems like there is a lack of people who post replies. So I'll try to help as much I can.
If you dont wanna spend money on new shoes and those are fine for how far you are running then use them I say. You may end up needing new ones as you run further and further.
Let me remind you though that its all in comfort and luxury because many shoes I have seen are realy thin (like pumas) or very flat (like boots used in the military)
You can run in anything but you experience any discomfort try finding something more supportive.

Well I ran eight miles today. I know waffle shoes have barely any support, but those are for short races usually.

I would highly recommend getting your feet fitted by a specialist. Shoe types vary a lot based on flexibility, cushioning and responsiveness, and every type of foot needs the right balance in order to avoid injury.
