I want to change my workouts and scenery. I have always cycled on flat terrain. I would like to try climbing the hills with my bike. It sounds like a challenge and I like challenges. I would appreciate hill climb training advice since I have never tried it before. Thank you for your help.
I suggest you start easy. Choose the hills with the least steep inclines at the beginning. Shorter distances would also be more suitable for you at the moment. As for the training, you have to strengthen your leg muscles since this is no longer an endurance matter. We are talking raw power here. So doing sprint intervals and lifting weights are necessary. When you build strength and power you can enjoy riding hills as well.
