my mom is bilingual, like me, (shes a nurse) but i think that if i tell her: mom, i got my period she might not understand and i might have to explain it to here. and i dont wanna say menstruation. so how do i tell her? and i dont wanna say: mama, tengo la regla cuz i know she wont understand because "la regla" is mostly used like a mexican word. were peruvian. any advice?
If your mom is a woman (obviously) and a nurse, then trust me, say anything you like, she's going to understand: she's expecting you to start bleeding (I take it this is your first, or an early period, and your a young teen), she did, every young woman did.

Say 'I'm bleeding', in any language you like: if she says 'where' and you look, she'll get it.

Buy a box of tampons - any - and ask if these are what she'd recommend.

Unless there's some other complicated issue, this is simply of open mouth, say the words, and almost any words, in any language will do.

Hi, just tell your mom, in any way you'd like she will understand, trust me I am Dominican/ puerto rican And I understand when someone tells me Tengo la regla, or estoy sangrando, por primera vez, or mami, tengo esa cosa que hace, una nina una mujer, any way you put it she will get it. Trust me nothing to be embarrassed about. she probably has her funny story to tell you anyways, she is probably waiting for you to say something.
