how would you check if you still had your hymen?? what does it look like so i can make sure im looking for the right thing??
You can get a mirror and check. You need to know what you're looking for. It's like a thin border of skin around the vaginal opening. Insert index and middle finger into the cervical opening. If you are unable to see or determine if the hymen is intact by looking into the mirror, you will need to use your fingers to feel for it. For comfort, use a water-based lubricant on your fingers before inserting into the cervical opening. It is important to do this slowly. The hymen is a very delicate tissue and it is possible to break it by inserting fingers quickly. Slowly move fingers into the opening. If you are able to move them in with little to no pain and up to the second knuckle on your finger; the hymen has been broken. Compare to pictures and diagrams online and you might get an idea of what it looks like. When you do break it, it doesn't hurt, but there will be a little blood. A gynecologist can also tell you if they do an exam and you ask them to check. I read somewhere that you can break your hymen by doing other things besides having intercourse. If you play a lot of sports you could've broken your hymen that way too. I hope this will help! :-)

Not necessarily. I wasn't bleeding at all, though it was painful. But a lot of my friends were bleeding after their first time...anyway, that shouldn't discourage you :-D , it is perfectly normal to bleed a little bit.

I know I shouldn't be reading this when I'm only twelve, as preteens is a time of innocence and learning, but I wanted to ask something. If your hymen breaks say, when you're riding a bike. Will you feel it? It's embarrassing that I can't talk to my mom about it, but it's the truth.
