I would like to do how you are dealing with this rectocele. I had total hysterectomy & bladder lift 29 years ago and now have rectocele. I do not want to do surgery. Thanks for any suggestions

Yes, for a few days it burns to urinate. But it's nothing unbearable.

I totally beg to differ, im someone who has a high tolerance to pain and this surgery is painful, its similar to hemorroid surgery, anyone whose had that knows how bad it can be, the burning can be unbearable. I came home with high dose pain meds and for 3 days tried not to use them, on day 4 I had to. Only thing that stopped the stinging. I am on day 6 and finally feeling a bit better but with the use of something knowone else suggested. It's calmoseptine, its an ointment you put on your rectum to ease the burning, aside from the sitz baths this was the only relief. I swear my tolerance for pain is huge but this was horrible horrible. Once I got this ointment, I can walk and smile again. Im only day 5 and plan to back to work in 2 days. Was told 5-8 weeks out of work. Calmoseptine has saved the day, do not use tucks if you are told, they only keep the area wet which means raw. so much bad info there.

I am due to have cystocele & rectocele repairs done Juky 14. I had a hysterectomy August 2014. I had 2 difficult attempts at delivery, my first ended up being auctioned out, which tore me up quite a bit, my second was turned & stuck. We tried for 2 hours to turn him & nurses were basically trying to push him back up, to no avail, and we had an emergency c-section. After recovering, I noticed some sort of bulge but had no idea what it was. I have a lot of health issues dues to my rare autoimmune rheumatoid disease that hardens, weakens & tightens all the fascia in my body. Anyway, after some time it was worse & I had one of my GYN appts, so I mentioned that there was something strange. It took her a little bit to figure it out, but she said to just do the best I could. Lots of fruits, veggies, water, roughage. Then I was having other issues that led to the hysterectomy & bad flare ups & chemo so I kind of wasn't too concerned. But it's just gotten worse & worse, to where it's almost always bulging through the vagina. Anyway, just about two weeks away from surgery to repair both. Just praying it goes well without any crazy complications.

i had rectoclel repair last monday. doctor went thru the vagina, the doctor packs your vagina after surgery plus put a catheter in with a plug so you do urinating like a man from the catheter. tomorrow is day 7 i will be able to remove the packing and catheter myself tomorrow after which i will be on a period and wearing pads for another 5 weeks. i go for post op in february. not near as bad as i thought it would be worst part was the first night in hospital and was not allowed to get out of bed at all. glad too have this fixed got so tired of not being able to empty the rectum and gas constantly. worth the time. make sure your doctor is good and has done lots of these surgeries
mine was a pro
