Completely new to this, stumbled across forum while researching “band falling off after colonoscopy.” In case it isn’t obvious, I had an endoscopy / colonoscopy procedure with “banding,” today (1.18.18) at 2pm.  Fortunately I was put under for the procedure, so I did not feel a thing (my deepest empathy to those whom have). Got home, took a quick shower and felt somewhat fine besides a little nausea. About an hour later, not so lucky as stomach cramping started. It felt as if I might have a BM, so I sat there waiting. There was bleeding, which prompted me to look down and that’s when I notice a small blue circle-like object. Completely freaked me out, so I had to investigate (yuck, I know but better safe than sorry considering first time offender). I did not the no this as normal, so I had to take pictures of it and it wasn’t until I zoomed in did I notice it had numbers and letters on it (product number). Darn! How the heck did the band fall off only 5 hours after the procedure??! I am flabbergasted at the idea this is even normal. So I started doing some research inlaid me in regards to bands falling off, to see how long is normal after the procedure, and I came across this page. I don’t feel so alone, and I’m sorry for those whom are or have experienced my pain and discomfort with this procedure. This is a “one and done” type of deal, no more thank you very much. I had 3 bands put on for 3 good sized hems, so it only makes me more stressed thinking when the others might fall off. Cramping is still here, have a heat pad on right now for some comfort. Good thing doctor prescribed Norco for pain...because this is not cool. Saved band that was still attached to what seemed like a vessel, concealed in airtight Zip Lock bag (doubled), and stored in cool place. Maybe I’m being over the top, but better safe than sort. Too bad it’s Friday and the docs office is closed...but I will be trying the hospital again tomorrow. For everyone else, hang in there, be strong, and DON’T PUSH!!
