How soon after my tonsillectomy can i drink? I had my tonsillectomy on Tuesday August 15th. Currently my throat has very little pain. I am only taking tylenol and motrin for it and to be honest, i'm going to stop taking them soon because i won't need them. Anyways, Thursday or next week is my 21st birthday. I am wondering if i will be ok to drink on that day? It will likely be a decent amount of alcohol....Will my tonsils be ok? It will be around 2.5 weeks post surgery
