Hi all. I’m desperate and I really need someone to help me... I have a 12 year old daughter with many emotional problems... You see, her father and I divorced 4 years ago and that was very stressful for her. Moreover, her father was an alcoholic and that was even worse experience – for both of us. Anyway, she really has problems hanging out with other children of her age, she is sad most of the time, she even lost some weight... She also became worse in school... I tried everything to help her and cheer her up but it seems that nothing works... Is there any way I could help her??? What should I do?? I would really like to se her grow up normally just as other kids... Please, reply... Thanks.

I can only imagine how hard this is for both of you... I really feel for you... Anyway, I think that you both will need some professional help. I’m not saying that you can’t help her yourself, but I think that it will be much better if you both take some counseling... Maybe you should first go to school and hear what their pedagogic have to say about it. Than you should seek some professional that will help you – the beginning is the most difficult and he’ll help you in it. Then, after some while, when you both find that you are improving, you will be able to move on on your own... Take care. Whish you all the best!!
