Hello. I am trying out for my college's baseball team, and was told I need to cut down roughly a second off of my time from home to first. My only idea was to do 30yd sprints with a running chute over and over until I basically keel over and die. Any suggestions on how to improve my time?
Strength training will help, because that 30 yard +/- run is more Anaerobic than aerobic.

Do lots of cardio in tandem with strength training, elipticals are good for that.

Interval training could help, too. That's where you do a warm up run, and then sprint for thirty seconds, then recover (but don't stop running, just slow down!) for thirty seconds, and then sprint for a minute, recover for a minute, and so on and so. I think some people also call them ladder intervals. It could be a fun change, and you'll still want to keel over and die afterwards, believe me!
