I AM A FOSTER PARENT AND I HAVE A BABY WHO IS A MONTH OLD AND SHE IS MEDICALLY CLEARED FROM THE METHADONE BUT STILL IS VERY IRRATIBLE BUT ONLY AT NIGHT , HOW CAN I COMFORT HER ?
Please, don’t use CAPS for everything you type, it’s unnecessary, to say the least. Is this a first baby that you have fostered or parented? I ask because I really haven’t heard of another baby as old as this that doesn’t wake up, cry or is irritable by night, just ask any new parents how long at night do they sleep without being interrupted. And you know, when a baby this old wakes up at night, it’s almost certainly hungry, little bit of food and some tenderness should be enough for a baby to get to sleep, but don’t expect it will work in a few minutes or that it will stop until the child grows up a bit more, all of this is really natural thing, no matter if it’s a baby medically cleared from the methadone or not.
