my husband has been taking bout 50mg of xanax per week and 40-50mg of methadone per wk. he has been doing this for approx 6 yrs now. well, now is really fed up and wants to quit. he knows from experience that he can't do it cold turkey (he had a seizure). but he does not have health insurance and will not qualify for medicaid. any suggestions? 8-|
I mean mj77 it is probably best that he does get some sort of professional help in doing this but if he's going to quit then he needs to gradually over a period of a few months take himself off one first, then the other. Between getting off each one he needs to wait about three months so that the body fully adjusts. I think that getting off methadone first would be best but this is pure speculation. Please let us know how it goes!
