In recent years I have had increasing cravings for sugar-saturated foods, things like pancakes, ice cream, sweet tea, cookies, cereal. I've had treatment/meds for post-partum depression in the last 4 years... is it the depression, is it the meds? Most importantly, how can I stop the addiction to super-sweet foods?
Thanks for your replies,
~J~
I don't know whether or not the meds could affect your cravings, that would be something to ask your doctor. However, I know that sweets in general are just addicting. They taste good, so you want them. Instead, try to limit yourself. Have one small treat at night. Try to make it half healthy half sweet, like fruit with whip cream. Pancakes with blueberries. Etc. It wont be an immediate thing, it'll take some time, but eventually you should start turning to smarter options. You'll feel healthier, too.

Hi wonderlandmama,
Depression can be a reason for it. Sugar gives a sense satisfaction. I've felt it myself when I feel depressed. The only solution for it is to keep yourself busy and involved.
