Okay, I also have this problem and I was recently diagnosed with a sinus infection. BAISICALLY, it's a vein in your tounge..it's So thin that you could mistake it for a hair, I guess. And when that vein swells up from say an infection, allergy or whatever you have you feel it on your tounge. Like I said it can be caused by things such as coffee, lack of hygiene, bacterial infection etc. It should go down on its own within several days, idk I haven't seen a doctor about it.

if this is not real then I must be mad because I have had this for years and it makes me sick when its down my throat or around my teeth and when I kiss girls with my tongue they can feel it I know its strange and have no answers myself but its driving me mental

It is often a symptom of dehydration. You may be drinking the "same" amount, but something in your body (medicine, extra alcohol consumption are a couple of examples). Your body gets kicked out of homeostasis and this sensation happens. It often takes several days to get back on track. It can also be an indicator of vitamin or mineral deficiency (for me, it's always dehydration plus missing magnesium and Vitamin C). Hope this helps.

someone mentioned polysaccarides. The hair in the mouth sensation started about a month after I started using Splenda.  I put two

two and two together-stopped using Splenda - after four days, the sensation disappeared.Thank God. It was driving me crazy.

I can still use aspertame.

Still looking for an answer, had this alongside a stinking cold and sore throat.  We don't have pets, and I don't come into contact with any.  I  also avoid all poisons, (sorry artificial sweetners) in food and drinks, so it can't be that.  I am constantly trying to get what feels like a hair off my tongue, but there is nothing there.  It's not on the same place on the tongue, it moves around too.  It's very irritating.  It feels like I have mohair in my mouth, but there is nothing there.

Yeah, homeopaths are quacks. Homeopathy literally has like no scientific plausibility and is based on completely outrageous, antiquated notions. Nobody should see a homeopath if they actually want to receive sound medical advice. See a medical doctor (you know, the people actually trained in science-based medicine).

You might have GERD. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

You're joking, right? You did NOT have bird flu, and you were NOT cured by homeopathy.

I have also had this sensation. I wonder if it is lint or fine hair like from a cat or dog. I have a corggie and her undercoat floats in the air sometimes. Maybe ocationally I have breathed in a hair and it traveled to my mouth? I can never find any hair but I garggle and rinse till its gone. It comes and goes so I can not pin it down to anything curtain. Good luck

I seem to get this mabe twice a year.. I used to put it down to somehow swallowing fur from my 3yr old daughters teddies but yesterday it had come back at the same time I noticed my 5month old coughing and putting her hand inside her mouth in a manner which looked like she was trying get something out and hacking (but not choking). When I've tried to scrape the back of my throat in an attempt to get the "fur" out I've noticed that my spit is frothy. As my baby appears to be suffering from the same thing, and when she drops her dummy (pacifier) on the floor I put it in my mouth before giving it back to her I truly believe it must be a bacteria transfered from hands to mouth.
