I had this sensation last year. I had a check up with my GP and was diagnosed with an under active thyroid gland. I was sent for an ultrasound of the thyroid, it was enlarged ++. This was causing the sensation of hair in my mouth. It finally went away when I started taking thyroxine. Good luck.

I have had the same problem for a few years now. The only thing we have in common is the thyroid issue and Fibro. Wish I knew the cause because it is annoying.

It is very possible that you have a very tiny mite on your tongue. Stick your tongue out and look at it in a 10 x magnified mirror. It will appear as a tiny black speck. Scrape off and peroxide mouth out and the swish salt water in mouth and spit. Be sure to was mite down drain and pour alcohol behind it. And wash your hands , then alcohol your hands.

I have this also. First time about 2 months ago. In my case I noticed it's not actually a hair but saliva. When I look into my mouth some pf my salivavos white instead of clear. And some pf the saliva has thickened and it looks like hair. Thats what I am feeling. I have discovered on my own that when I start to geel that hairy tounge feeling I drink lots of water and suck on life savers.
