Iam 34 years old and when i was about 6 years old i had tubes put in and my right ear healed good but the left ear never healed,...i still have a hole in it and dont notget water in it at all. I would love to go swimming and just take a shower with out worring about this ear thing you know.i know i have to go to the doctor and get it checked out but about 16 or 17 years now i havent done nothing about it besides not getting water in it. I do have some hearing loss in it and was woundering what the after affects would be if was to have typanoplasty done, since i am older now, i do have a son and he had this done to him at the age of 4 and he is just fine now but kids heal faster than adults. i no i should have this done but it doesnt hurt now at the moment and i am not a pain person,....ears hurt i can remember the pain good and don't want that.
I am 42 and I had double typanoplasty in 1999 and I haven't had a bit of trouble out of my ears since. Still don't have 100% hearing but I am blessed with what hearing I do have. I had my procedure done at the Shea ear clinic in Memphis Tennessee. I personally feel like you can't go wrong by having this procedure done. It really improves your state of being, no more runny ears, no more putting wax in your ears to keep water out. ect...
