Hello. I'm 23 year old female and I have developed some weird skin problems. I have been shaving my pubic hairs for the past couple of months and I don't know if this has to do with sort of like pimples coming out of that shaved area.
The thing that calms me down is the fact that I'm still a virgin and that I'm sure I didn’t developed any sexually transmitted disease.
What should I do about this? I used some medication made for pimples but it hasn't gone away yet. Do I have to stop shaving? This looks very unpleasant and I would like to avoid it in the future.
Hi. First I want to tell you that you are definitely now alone with this problem. It is very common and almost every woman has experienced it some time in their life.
Sometimes- it just can't be avoided but there are some facts you should know about quality genital shaving. With time you will develop your own technique but as a beginner you should use a new sharp blade each time. Use a non-perfumed gel, soap, for lubrication every time or try to find this specific mild gel for genital shaving.
Apply 1% hydrocortisone very sparingly to the area after shaving-but only once. It is not healthy for your skin to do it frequently. These things will help decrease irritations to the hair follicles.
Good luck!
