I just realized you had yours a week ago. This is normal to be coughing. It should get better. There are alot of nerves in there that are irratated from the surgery. Give it some time.
The coughing has worsened and im tired it's every day all day.even when im working. How much longer will this last?Im not happy at all.
I totally understand what you are going thru. How long since your surgery? Hopefully it is just still swollen and irritated from the surgery. Get your doctor to prescribe you the Tesselon pearls for cough. (don't remember the actual prescription name, but they will know). They are designed to suppress the nerve causing the tickle or need to cough. They don't make you sleepy or anything. They helped me alot. Doctors usually prescribe them for a cough due to a cold, so it is a common prescription. Good luck!
Did you recover? I had my full thyroid removed 4.5 months ago but after continuing choking and hardness and a lump which seemed to stop my voice box returning to its natural position I was Re operated on this week and found I had scar tissue and muscles attached to larynx . However 3 days on I’m back to choking and coughing and very worried as sleep is so bad as only relief is sipping cold water. Will it go?
My total thyroidectomy was 5 months ago. I just started coughing 8 weeks ago. A dry tickling cough. I can rub where my thyroid was and get relief, so I know it's from that. It's making me crazy!!!
I sure hope you sue your Dr. for this. That is absolutely crazy, and I am so sorry you are going through this!
Is coughing normal after thyroid removal surgery? I have been coughing a lot, and having mucus since having my thyroid surgery two days ago.
