I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer almost 8 months ago. I never got checked out at doctors like I should of until I ended up in the ER for pelvic pain that wouldn't go away. It lead to my diagnosis after a couple tests and surgery. Im worried about my cousin. She's 22 and also has never gotten checked out. She's mentioned that she has extremely painful periods. I keep telling her to go to the doctor but she keeps putting it off. I never had painful periods before so I don't know if it's something she should be worried about in the subject of cancer. I just know that I was diagnosed at 23 years old and she's just a little younger. I never did the genetic testing that deals with Ovarian cancer so I don't know if it's genetic or not. I have an oncologist appointment this week and she's going with me. I know she's nervous about having a pelvic exam, so maybe she will see that it's not so bad. Should i continue to push her about getting it done?
