Hi, I am 17 and I had my period for 9 freaking months straight! With the help of medicine it went away for ONE day and with the help of a different medicine it went away for nearly 2 weeks and then came back. Then it went away for a week and now it is back. I guess it just loves me too much to stay away! Lol! It started after I got on implanon. (birth control implanted in the upper arm) it scared me for a while, but I have seen my doctor, she did say it is very rare, but she did not demand I get the birth control removed. I do actually know someone who had implanon a while back, (my best friend's mom) and also bled for 9 months before getting it removed. For me it is/was a normal period the entire time. I have gotten used to it; however, I will most likely be getting it removed soon. But you aren't alone at least. And that amount of time I'd nothing to worry about(;

I'm 17, I have implanon, the birth control they put inside your arm and you get it taken out in 3 years, It's been a little over a year since I've had it and it's actually supposed to make my period go away after 6 months but my periods have been getting longer and longer each time, I've currently been on my period for over a month now, I've looked up some things and it could be really bad. or even some kinda cancer, but my mom doesnt take it seriously and won't take me to a doctor, what do I do???? I've been feeling really week and tired and not motivated. I dont know what to do......

So, you're saying Implanon is the reason for the long periods?

Im 17 years of age and i have now had my period for 16 months, probably having 1-4 days month with just spotting. During the 16 months of having my period i have had the impolon inserted and removed and have put on all kinds of medication and nothing has stopped yet. I have also had over 42 boils during this time, i have also been on heaps of different antibitics and still i have been on my period and still getting huge boils that are that bad I am scaring.

I have seen at least six differant Doctors all from differant clinics and yet I still have no cure.

Please help.

I just had my son 6 months ago and I had the shot for birth control, been on my period for 3 months straight and only a few days off ! I haven't seen my doctor but I'm guessing it's because of my BC shot ! Either way I'm worried and will see her soon ! You should to
