My daughter 15 years old having a period over three months straight. Before all this happened, she had a regular period. The bleeding is lighter but she had to change the tampon two times a day. No specific diagnoses yet. She had urine, blood, internal exam at only. Her next appointment they want to do ultrasound. I'm very worried. It could be stress, diet( she became vegan), or cancer, tyroid disease. Blood test result shown she wasn't anemic. (I have been giving her complete vitamins, maybe that helped) I will post update as soon as I learned anything so that maybe that information might be helpful for those searching answers.
I'm 17, and I've had my period for 3 months straight with the exception of 1 or 2 days. I came here to get some answers, but I don't know what's wrong yet. I'm taking an antidepressant(Zoloft), I dont know if that has anything to do with it. But I've read that antidepressants can cause hormonal imbalances, which may be the cause. I'm planning to see my doctor soon, but I am just a little scared. I just started getting abdominal pain, which is normal when I had my regular periods. But for the prior 2 months I wasn't having any pain at all. I'd also like to mention that the flow is inconsistent. Someday I have an extremely heavy flow, and then somedays it's almost like I'm ending soon. Is anyone having the same problem?
Hello everyone! I have been on my period for 4 months today. I am 21 years old and I have a history of having irregular periods. The longest I have been without my period was 7 months. Now it is back with a vengence, however, of anyone has anemia like I do. Does that play a role as to why my periods are so off? If so, please tell me your theories.
Hi girls. I'm 23 years old. I am now 9 months with problems with prolonged periods, only with a few random days off. After 8 weeks I went to the doctors and got some blood tests, all was fine but my white blood cell count was down. Nothing more was done until I went a month later and told them the pain and discomfort was too much - I was sent for a pelvic ultrasound, all was fine. I was then placed on the pill for 3 months (3 weeks on the pill - 1 week off) during this time I had my period only 1 week each month - the week each month I was off the pill.
Now that was 2 months ago and I've been bleeding constantly since. Again no follow up from my doctor but I have an appointment next week as I'm not really coping, the pain is too much. I work as an activity organiser so my job is very active and every night my lower back is agony. But I have to get up and get on with it the next
I lack energy all the time, have no notion to do anything anymore and dont feel very hygienic - at this point my period has changed colour to a dark red, almost black colour and the blood is clotted.
Feel like I'm bothering the doctor whenever I go as they don't seem to know what to do... In the end they do very little.
Keep visiting your doctors ladies.
I have visited many sites where women discuss these issues and have yet to find a real solution (actually my GP told me having a baby may help - I was shocked, was that his medical advice?)
We have to push for more answers and investigations into what's going on with our bodies.

Turning 16... Had my period for almost 3 months now.. All heavy flow. I'm 130lb which is normal for my height. This happened to me before but last time it was for a whole year. What should I do? I eat healthy and work out. Is this because I'm stressing?

I always got migraines at the start of my period, but now I am always dizzy and have a headache. I have been putting off going to the doctor, but you definitely should. Don't wait for it to stop, because every time I think it stopped; my period comes back the next day or so.

I'm 25 and I've been on 3 months.. I've spent hundreds of dollars going to doctors and getting birth control and nothing is working! I'm almost to the stage of asking for a hysterectomy even though I don't have kids yet , it's like doctors are telling me not to stress yet im continuously on my cycle... how can I not stress? I'm willing to give up having kids just to not ever bleed again.. I need real advice I'm going crazy!!
I have seeing mine for two months n some days now, I am not on the pill, I don't have any IUD's inserted n wen I did the scan my gynecologist did not find any cysts on my ovaries but they say my body is showing symptoms of PCOS... now am getting worried I don't have a cure
I have the same issue. I seem to be backwards from what is normal. Three weeks on my period and one week off.
For possible future information I'm wondering if any of you have tried having kids. Is this likely to cause fertility issues?
