I have just been diagnose with geographic tongue an it's one of the most ignoreing thing I have every had.I need help everything I tried don't work.
Since most cases cause no symptoms, reassuring the person affected that the condition is entirely benign is usually the only treatment.
When symptoms are present, topical anesthetics can be used to provide temporary relief. Other drugs that have been used to manage the symptoms include antihistamines, corticosteroids or anxiolytics, but these drugs have not been formally assessed for efficacy in geographic tongue. If some foodstuffs exacerbate or trigger the symptoms, then cutting these foods out of the diet may benefit.
The condition may disappear over time, but it is impossible to predict if or when this may happen.
You may reduce discomfort associated with geographic tongue by avoiding or limiting substances that commonly aggravate sensitive oral tissues, including:
Hot, spicy, acidic or salty foods
Tobacco products
Toothpaste that contains tartar-control additives, heavy flavoring or whitening agents
dont know if you had any relief.... but if you can cut out or restrict your sugar intake, get some liquid B12 (once per day) pick up a box of zinc cold lozenges (one per day) , keep in mind zinc had a little bit of an aftertaste but it does not last long at all. Drink your water, you should avoid spicy ,acidic foods. After suffering for 2 years.... in 9 days I really want to sing "the Happy Song" What a relief , I know it could return, but I know how to better handle it.. Good luck
