You can avoid problems associated with GERD and acid reflux while having pancreatitis by taking an acid reducer like Pepcid or another brand....i take omeprazole and it helps me a lot. Ask your GI doctor or a trained nutritionist first before taking.

Hello.

EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) is a condition where the pancreas doesn't produce enough digestive enzymes. This can lead to difficulty digesting food, particularly fats, which can result in symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss. The following is a list of foods that are generally well-tolerated by people with EPI:

1. Lean proteins: Chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, tofu, and legumes are all good sources of protein that are easy to digest.

2. Low-fat dairy: Milk, yogurt, and cheese are all good sources of calcium and protein. Choose low-fat options to avoid excess fat.

3. Whole grains: Brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal, and whole-wheat bread are all good sources of fiber and energy.

4. Fruits and vegetables: Choose fruits and vegetables that are low in fat, such as berries, melons, citrus fruits, leafy greens, and cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.)

5. Healthy fats: While it is important to avoid excess fat, including some healthy fats in your diet can help with digestion. Avocado, nuts, seeds, and olive oil are all good sources of healthy fats.

6. Enzyme supplements: Your doctor may recommend enzyme supplements to help you digest fat more easily. Be sure to take these as directed.

It is important to note that everyone's digestive needs are different, so it's important to work with a registered dietitian to create a personalized nutrition plan that meets your specific needs.
