My husband and me want to have a child and we find penetration to be little difficult and painful. My husband ejaculated into my vaginal opening and there was a small amount of sperm that came out of me after he ejaculated completely into me. There was zero penetration and I understand from what I read in the internet that getting pregnant might be difficult without penetration and the sperm may die before it reaches the cervix. Is there a possibility of getting pregnant by doing it this way? I'm really worried on how to proceed? Could you pls help me?

Hi Valliappan,

Lets start off with, why can't he penetrate you?  Is he very large?  Are you very tight?  Have you tried using fingers to slowly spread your vagina open and also to stimulate you so that you dilate and become wet?

Are you using a lube?  Use one.

You may want to talk to your ob/gyn about this.

It is NORMAL for some semen to leak out of the vagina after having sex.  Sperm does need to reach the egg to fertilize it.  Sperm can survive up to about 5 days - max.

Thanks for your reply. Yup he is on the heavier side. Is it safe to use a lube?

Can the sperm travel from the vaginal opening to the Egg? They say that sperm will need 6 hours to reach the cervix and it might die by the time it reaches.

Since there is no penetration, we were looking for options. Even with penetration, we could only end up doing a small distance. Pls help?

There are safe lubricants. KY is a common brand. Do not use a petroleum product.
Yes sperm can travel. Sperm can remain viable for up to about 5 days.
Work on penetration. Talk to your ob/gyn.
