I have been diagnosed with IBS over a year ago. however, i dont think thats the correct diagnosis. ive lost a significant amount of weight. im talking 201-146 within four months. i expirience pain and watery stools for more than just during the morning. the nausea lasts on and off all day everyday i live. i have taken dicyclomine and my body rejects it. metloclopramide does not help. pepto bismol provides temporary results. i also expirience lots of other things that point a different direction. i have had tests so pregnancy is out of the question. i can barely eat food because im always nauseated or have no apetite. and recently i have developed a foul smelling belch that smells and tastes like eggs...any leads would be very helpful...----sick of suffering
Hi, stramey 24.
First of all, why do you think that isn't IBS? Because all the symptoms you described are the part of IBS. Do you experience any other signs that indicate it's something else? Did your doctor try any other therapy besides one you're currently using?
As for foul smell, maybe the problem is in ineffectiveness of the medicament you're currently using. Also, undigested food can cause smelling belch of rotten eggs (it's, actually, a smell of sulfur). Try drinking a lot of herbal teas and don't consume alcohol or food which contains much sugar, and see what will happen.
Does the doctor ordered any diet to you, and do you stick to it?
Have you been tested for parasites? They can wreak havoc on your digestive system But are feasibly cured with antibiotics.
It's possible you may have Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. Have you checked your stools for blood? IBS is accompanied with severe bloating, diarrhea, and nausea. I was diagnosed with IBS and had a hard time agreeing because my symptoms are so severe. However all tests came back normal which is highly frustrating because I know I'm not okay. IBS is also accompanied with indigestion and acid reflux which causes me to belch sometimes foul smells or vomit. I hope you've resolved this.
