Wow. I’ve been experiencing this for about 10 years, but until now was unable to find any information on others having similar experiences. Thank you all. I’m still not sure exactly what this is, but it’s at least comforting to know I’m not alone. I had an MRI for an unrelated issue about 3 years ago and it came back with no abnormalities. When I try to describe my experience people have no idea what I’m talking about. The few who had an answer say that I’ve been astroprojecting in my dreams.

Hello,
This has been happening frequently to me lately. I will be overcome with extremely vivid deja vu that is accompanied by strange sensations (almost like a sort of "high") and even stranger dream-like memories. The memories vary and usually have some sort of rhythm like music or repetitive noise. Sometimes I will experience a prickling sensation in my chest and the center of my head.
I'm not sure what to make of it and I have been trying to find causes as to why. I've been tested for epilepsy before, but they never found anything. In 2012 however, I aspirated and suffered damage to my brain that has since seemed to recover. A part of me that I buried deep down inside is telling me that the damage might have been worse than I thought, but without insurance I can't do anything about it.

Since August, I've had 5 weird attacks, and still don't know what they are. I get really bad deja vu. It makes my heart a little faster, and have really bad anxiety. It gets really scary and confusing. Afterwards, it feels like there's something tight pressuring around my head. I always have them at random times, and am just confused on why it's happening.

I have the same exact experiences that I notice happened before my cycle and I am also at the age where perimenopause can be a factor. I’m 51. It’s really scary. It’s like a déjà vu but it isn’t. I’m trying to recall some thing that possibly never happened or it’s a mix of an event With other memories of sorts added into this confused state. It only last for a couple of minutes. I get anxious, I heat up and sweat, and sometimes I want to cry because I do not know what’s going on. I have multiple sclerosis and I’m on a lot of meds. This just started happening about six months ago so I really don’t know if I can attribute it to meds or menopause or some thing else. I’m glad that I’m not alone because I have been feeling crazy! I’ve had four today after not having any these past few of weeks.

Wow… I thought I was going insane….
Have been tested for epilepsy and nothing…
Self conclusions are that it comes from a deep forgotten part of the subconscious due to unresolved trauma? Hence the adrenaline feeling, deep breathing and sitting soothes it. Always seems to happen during life moments of sureness, moments when I’ve stepped up and demand more of myself… or others have demanded more… everything everyone has posted here rings true to a decent extent… my advice, tackle it head on and find out what you MAYBE repressing.

It's been a couple of years since I read through a lot of the posts but in my judgement these incidents look like temporal lobe epilepsy. In my case it's a fairly rare event; what doctors can analyze are far more severe cases where it is essentially ongoing. They can't detect something that is there for a few minutes every couple of years (I used to get it for days in a row but the same applies as they aren't keeping our brains wired for weeks on end). The symptoms match epilepsy but thankfully they aren't full blown cases. If epilepsy or migraine headaches are common in your family it makes it all the more likely. Yes stress might bring it on -my brother is epileptic and stress is a trigger.

I see this was posted a while ago but I was hoping to find out if you’ve had any other symptoms and a conclusion to your diagnosis. I was diagnosed years ago with LTE but have been having a bunch of other symptoms that they can’t seem to be able to figure out. This was the closest thread I saw in comparison to what by I’m going through

I've experienced this twice in my life and seemed to be triggered by something around a school bus. It hits so hard and rushes over you with visons that I can't remember afterwards and the intense nausea feeling that seems to oddly feel amazing. I've tried to make this happen numerous times and almost succeeded twice. Some people will say it's seizures of some sort but I think it's something more amazing than that

I have had this since puberty. I am now 58. I get the de javu, the sick feeling and then light headed. But lately it's changing. I feel like I'm on speed. I am doing a daily task but I'm also processing a dream I once had. I don't have the nausea, I feel like I am processing all the information around me at a higher rate of speed, but not in a comfortable way. My BP is good.

I have been having this exact thing, it started last night. It’s like remembering the “dream” ignites the nausea.

So well said. The way you describe the deja vu of a dream aspect is EXACTLY what I've experienced.

In my case, the first experience occurred maybe 8 years ago now. It started with the deja vu of an extremely familiar dream that I couldn't remember and probably never had and then came these sickening feelings of dread that washed over me like waves for probably a minute, but felt like forever. After the waves of dread, I was pale and sweating. It left me feeling shaken and out of sorts for a long time after.

What's weird is that the first day it happened, it happened repeatedly throughout that day. It was horrible, but since then, it's only happened one other time.

I appreciate how well you've articulated the deja vu dream aspect of it. It's so spot on. The fact that I find it hard to describe is the main reason I never mentioned it to my doctor. I might just save your description to show him because you've explained it far better than I could.

Hi, guest.

Our staff sent me this answer regarding your concern:

"I can provide some general information on the topic.

1. Post-infectious sequelae: Sometimes after an infection, people can experience various symptoms which may or may not be directly related to the initial infection. Giardiasis (infection with the parasite Giardia) can lead to post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome (PI-IBS) and other gastrointestinal symptoms, but the symptoms you describe don't seem directly related to that.

2. Deja Vu and Seizure Activity: Intense feelings of deja vu can, in some cases, be associated with a type of seizure called temporal lobe epilepsy. These seizures can cause feelings of deja vu, followed by lightheadedness or other unusual sensations. It's important to note that not everyone who experiences deja vu has epilepsy, but if the sensation is frequent, intense, and followed by other symptoms, it's worth discussing with a healthcare provider.

3. Vestibular issues: The inner ear, or vestibular system, helps regulate balance. Issues with this system can sometimes cause dizziness or lightheadedness.

4. Other Causes: There can be various other reasons for experiencing deja vu, lightheadedness, and strange feelings, ranging from anxiety to migraines to other medical conditions."

They want me to ask you have you been to the doctor yet?
